To hear and experience sophisticated culture in German here on the Costa Blanca was the wish of many residents and guests. After all, there is nothing on offer here
. Classical music, but also theatre and cabaret were on the wish list.
This was the impetus for the first summer serenade in the cloister of the Ermita las Rotas in Dénia in 2003.
From the beginning there was a close collaboration with Professor Vicente Giner, especially at his organ festival Pedreguer. His organ studies in Austria not only brought him closer to the German language, but also to our cultural understanding.
His organ concertos, for example, feature important composers such as Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Soler and Vivaldi, making them particularly familiar and sought-after for our ears. This cooperation and the great popularity resulted in further contacts, which reached a special climax with the New Year’s concerts. Big-name artists always enjoy coming to Dénia. For example the great conductor and leader of the Russian Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra St. Petersburg Juri Gilbo, or G. Feidmann, M. Gershwin, R. Kollo, G. Emmerlich, B. Cramm, M. Schlubeck… and many more.
In December 2004, the association was officially entered in the register of associations.
German-language performances, such as concerts, theatre, cabaret, all at a high level – and all on your doorstep: That’s what the Konzertfreunde offer you!

The task and aim of the registered association Konzertfreunde
is to offer music and theatre culture from German-speaking countries to residents and guests living here on the Costa Blanca.
We therefore organise concerts on our own, but also support other artists and cultural representatives in the region. We want to offer the many clubs represented here a complementary cultural platform that the clubs alone cannot or do not want to take on to this extent.
For the selection of the performances, your wishes are just as important to us as the quality and originality of the performers. We put a lot of ideas, contacts and our full energy into pleasing and enriching the concert friends here on the Costa Blanca.
All members of the association, as well as the board, work on a voluntary basis. The costs for the events such as fees, travel and accommodation costs are covered by ticket sales.
To keep the performances affordable, we are grateful for patrons and sponsors.
Our aim is to finance the events in a self-supporting way, i.e. without public subsidies.
